New Zealand at the Olympics

So far New Zealand has had a reasonably successful showing in the early days of the London 2012 Olympic Games. So far we’ve recieved a Bronze medal in the Team Eventing Equestrian, a Bronze medal in the Women’s Pair Rowing, and overnight we recieved our first Gold medal in the Men’s Double Sculls rowing! YAY SO EXCITED! (please see this photo btw)

The New Zealand Equestrian team had an excellent showing, with Mark Todd featuring in his 123274538924673821678th Olympic Games (DISCLAIMER: Exaggeration may apply to this number).

Btw, this is how the New Zealand Equestrian competitors celebrate winning a Bronze

Mark Todd certainly knows how to party!

And this is how Emily Seebohm of Australia celebrates getting Silver

Cry any harder, and she would’ve looked like this:

Juliette Haigh and Rebecca Scown kicked off our Rowing medal haul in the Women’s Pair (Click here to visit their website!), which is a pretty great effort, considering how Juliette Haigh has been battling tendonitis in her elbow since her camp in Belgium three weeks ago.

And our Men’s Double Sculls *GOLD MEDAL WINNERS* Nathan Cohen and Joseph Sullivan bring our tally up to three!!!! So Excited, even though I’d already headed off to bed by this time, only to be woken by my overly excitable mother celebrating their ‘come-from-behind’ win (I’m a very busy student, so Student Life = Pick Two: Good Grades, Social Life or Sleep. Needless to say I pick Good Grades and Sleep haha)
